Parent Education Initiative
Dyslexia Tutoring Program offers an initiative to help parents and guardians through the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process. We educate and support parents through meeting preparation, letter writing, and review of their children’s educational assessments. Our goal is to provide parents with the guidance they need to make sure their children receive their rights to special education services, which are provided through the No Child Left Behind Act. The DTP Parent Education Initiative will give DTP parents the tools they need to help their child learn to read so they will have a chance for a brighter tomorrow. We have assisted over 50 families since the programs inception in 2007.
The Parent Education Initiative is open all DTP participants ages 7 – 17. Please contact the Dyslexia Tutoring Program if you would like to learn more about the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process or are currently in the process and would like assistance.
